I went to the library and checked out a Sue Grafton novel, among other things. Fantasy is my obsession, but murder mysteries are my literary junk food- they aren't "good for you," but they sure are nice once in a while,
I also find myself waiting, with bated breath, for the return of an old friend of mine, who's coming down in a week or so. I haven't seen him in a while, and considering our history, I'm not all too sure our reunion will be a pleasant one.
But enough about that. Darn it, I'm not going to start whining about my personal life. It's too cliche.
Tonight, I made a little something I call "Scarborough Chicken," in honor of the folk song "Scarborough Fair." Of course, it has more than parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme in it, but that's the gist of it, rubbed into a few pieces of chicken that I saute- the other ingredients change, depending on what I have in the pantry.
Speaking of old (well, not THAT old) songs, I'm currently listening to Siouxsie and the Banshees- more specifically, "The Ghost in You," off of their album Superstition. It's certainly not their usual style, and the slow tempo helps me write, and inspires me to be creative in general...
Maybe it'll help me find a creative way to clean the kitchen. Sigh....
